It all began around the first half of the 19th century, at the foot of the famous Roccella Ionica cliff , formerly known as Anphisia.

In this isolated place, a young man named Vincenzo, founder of the Errigo family, collects medicinal herbs at night at the foot of the rock face and distills them following the secret recipe passed down to him by his beloved mother, then sells the infusions to his most trusted friends.

Enjoy it at room temperature or chilled (-20°C ), sitting at the table after a delicious dinner enjoyed in pleasant company, or perhaps in an armchair at any time of day, letting your eyes and thoughts wander through delicate images. Hold it in your mouth for a few seconds to perceive the different taste sensations and enhance the experience of each delightful sip.

Additional details

It all began around the first half of the 19th century, at the foot of the famous Roccella Ionica cliff, formerly known as Anphisia.

In this isolated place, a young man named Vincenzo, founder of the Errigo family, collects medicinal herbs at night at the foot of the rock face and distills them following the secret recipe passed down to him by his beloved mother, then sells the infusions to his most trusted friends.

One night, while distilling, he meets Pietro, a young local lawyer, who was meeting nearby with other friends to discuss in the darkness of the night. They are a group of patriotic intellectuals, precursors of the Carbonari uprisings. Vincenzo, initially wary, agrees to let the young people try his brew, without ever asking what they were discussing during those meetings. Occasionally, he hears Pietro calling the liqueur "Rupes" in the distance, while, along with his friends, he raises his glass and exclaims, "Long live freedom!"
