Merlot is originally from Bordeaux: it was introduced to the Pontine Marshes in the 1930s by Venetian settlers who reclaimed the Pontine Marshes and in 1966 it was awarded the Controlled Designation of Origin.

Made from 100% Merlot grapes. Careful carbonic maceration fermentation yields this novello, a young and dynamic wine with a vibrant, intense color and a pleasant flavor typical of a very young wine. This first wine pairs well with pasta dishes, cured meats, cheeses, and roasted chestnuts.

Recommended pairings

Perfect with appetizers of cured meats and cheeses and first courses even with more or less elaborate sauces or, given its softness, with traditional chestnuts or roasted chestnuts

Serving temperature

Serve in a red wine glass such as Carrè at 14-16°C
