Appearance: intense dark brown color with bright purple reflections.

Aroma: the nose expresses multiple aromas, in addition to intense myrtle there are other aromas of Mediterranean scrub, aromatic herbs, laurel, sage and plum jam.

Taste: upon tasting, all these aromas blend together in a very elegant and enveloping embrace of myrtle that dominates the mouth, subjugated by the vegetal notes, in a very refined sweet-bitter tug of war, which leads towards a finish that is appropriately dry and rich in Mediterranean returns.

Myrtle Historical Recipe is a journey through the history of Sardinia.

Every little sip is a step through the Mediterranean scrub, towards cliffs overlooking the sea, with sensations in the mouth that take your breath away.

Additional details

Interesting fact: A Sardinian jewel with deep roots, recognized as a traditional product since 1998 with Legislative Decree 173.

Myrtle was a home-made product on the island since the 19th century: it was made by macerating ripe berries in a mixture of brandy and water.

At the end of the maceration period, sugar or honey was added to the extract to soften it.

The philosophy of the Silvio Carta company is to produce a Mirto of the highest quality.

The historic recipe is simple: excellent ingredients in the right quantities, patience, and a lot of passion.

Myrtle – Silvio Carta's historic recipe – is a unique and captivating product. The best way to enjoy it is chilled, poured from bottles kept in the icebox.
