This wine is produced from Vermentino grapes grown in the Tenuta Santa Lucia vineyard on the hills of the Tuscan coast near Pisa.

Color: Straw yellow with golden reflections . Aroma: Complex on the nose, with floral notes and hints of peach, flowers, sage, and rosemary. Flavor: Persistent, ample, and well-balanced with mineral notes.

An unexpected twist The novelty of this Vermentino lies in its packaging, which uses an original and innovative "screw and open" solution called HELIX™. This perfect combination of a special ergonomically designed cork stopper and a glass bottle with an internal thread in the neck allows for effortless opening by hand with a simple, easy twist. Furthermore, after opening, the bottle can be resealed in the same way, creating an ideal closure for preserving the wine's organoleptic characteristics. We chose HELIX™ because it represents a bottling solution geared towards sustainability and the reduction of energy and CO². We want to offer our customers a familiar uncorking solution—the screw cap—with the distinctive cork finish that harks back to the Tuscan winemaking tradition.

Additional details

The Tenuta Santa Lucia vineyard is located approximately 100 meters above sea level at the junction of the Arno and Era valleys, on ancient rain-fed soils composed of layers of tuffaceous sand and gravel. This soil, which at times reveals the meeting of the river and the sea (now about 25 kilometers to the west), is also rich in fossil skeletons and shells.

The climate is typically Mediterranean, with daytime thermal breezes coming from the sea and nighttime breezes channeled from the Arno and Era valleys, allowing for excellent ventilation and protecting the vineyard from the risk of heat stroke caused by recent climate change.

The vineyard is completely surrounded by woodland, which it nestles into and occasionally intertwines with. This osmotic exchange with the native varieties of the Mediterranean scrub allows for an interesting, occasional aromatic exchange and a richer interaction between the vineyard and the local fauna. Ciliegiolo is a typical variety of Chianti, particularly on the Tuscan coast, where in recent years it has garnered increasing support from producers interested in making an original contribution to the Tuscan tradition.

Vermentino is one of the few white grapes perfectly adapted to the Mediterranean climate of Tuscany. It loves the sea breeze and sunlight, imparting the savory flavor and perfect acidity that lends an irresistible freshness. Upon arrival at the winery, the healthy grapes are destemmed and delicately pressed. Pressing yields different fractions of juice, each of which is cooled to 8°C for 24 hours to promote natural decantation. The clear must is then poured into stainless steel tanks where alcoholic fermentation takes place at a temperature no higher than 12°C. Approximately a month after fermentation, a precise evaluation of the different batches of wine is performed to assemble the selected ones to obtain the final blend.
