Origin of the vine: The valley that gave birth to the Montepulciano vine is the Peligna valley, with written records dating back to the mid-1700s, while in the Pescara valley there is evidence of the production and marketing of “Montepulciano wine” since 1821.
Since the post-war period, its cultivation has spread to the entire coastal hilly area and today it is the main grape variety in the Abruzzo region.
It is a plant that can grow both in inland mountainous areas and on hills, all the way up to the coastal areas.

Soil: Medium texture – calcareous

In the Cellar
Vinification: Harvested by hand in the first ten days of October, the grapes, once gently destemmed, undergo maceration for approximately 14 days. During this period, the wine also completes alcoholic fermentation at a temperature no higher than 20°C, before being transferred to barriques, where malolactic fermentation is completed. It is then aged for a further 6 months in wood and further in the bottle.
