In the past, in fact, it was customary to drink ratafià immediately after the ratification of a notarial contract, to seal the agreement.

The particular name derives from the Latin expression “ut rata fiat”: let the act be ratified.

The liqueur made by women but drunk by men had a connotation strongly tied to the territory.

The hillside black cherries and Montepulciano wine give this liqueur a powerful structure.
