Pompeian wines were held in the highest regard by the ancients: as Pliny wrote, "the soil and the environment, not just the grapes, make the difference, and ageing is beneficial." Coda di Volpe is made from the ancient "Cauda Vulpium" grape, so named for the characteristic shape of its curved bunches, up to 40 cm long. The variety grown on the slopes of Vesuvius is also known locally as "caprettone" or "crapettone."
A pale straw yellow white wine , it has a good aromatic intensity on the nose with distinct notes of broom and ripe fruit. The dry , well-structured flavor and pleasant, harmonious, and refined aroma make it a balanced and versatile wine .
