Botanical is a glimpse into the beauty of fusions. Although Sicily is our center of gravity, our landing place, our heart remains scattered throughout the world: Botanical is for us "an island within an island," a rum that, while remaining rooted in Sicily, connects us to other places. A blend of Rum Mater and artisanal rums from Trinidad and Reunion, with aromas that transcend our borders. Local carob and orange, cinnamon and cloves are the key botanicals. Notes of rhubarb, orange, black pepper and vanilla, milk chocolate, and almond : a journey even on the palate. A personal synthesis of lands both far and near, where rum is culture, and the sea tells fascinating stories.

Additional details

Sugarcane, an Arab legacy, established in Sicily in the 7th century AD, quickly became a stable product; Sicilian sugar spread, and the "sweetooth" continued to thrive, reaching as far as the Canary Islands and Madeira. Then colonial products arrived, and Sicilian sugarcane was quickly swallowed up by darkness, by history turning a new leaf.
We planted it for the first time in the Modica area in 2021, after centuries of silence: it was a flashback. A return to the land with fresh eyes, aware of the stratifications of time and the hybridizations that make the island prismatic. We touched the deep roots we thought were lost.

Recommended pairings

Excellent paired with dark chocolate and caramel desserts. It also pairs well with dried fruit and aged cheeses.

Serving temperature

Serve in a snifter at 18/20°C
