The golden color is the result of aging in English oak barrels which also gives it an intense flavor.

Aroma: candied fruit.

Taste: hints of Sichuan pepper, light citrus aroma, vanilla and strawberry stand out in the finish.

Unfiltered rum, the sediment is considered natural.

Additional details

Paul & Jacine Rutasikwa, are the owners of the family estate in Matugga village, which is located 20 km north of Uganda's capital, Kampala.

They decided to start producing rum by distilling molasses from sugar cane grown on their own plantations, and importing it to England.

The master distiller is Dr. John Walters. After a long 7-day fermentation, the molasses is distilled three times in small 200-litre stills, like those used in the 18th century.
