Founded in 1780 during the American Revolution, the Pepper family brand is the oldest whiskey produced in Kentucky. Its founder, Colonel James E. Pepper, affectionately called it Old "1776." The award-winning 1776 label was launched in 2012 in collaboration with other distilleries to revive the ancient brand and has since enjoyed great success in the whiskey world.
